New release album
The late night NBC staple “Saturday Night Live” will return for its 35th season on Saturday, September 26, and they recently announced the lineup for the first four weeks of the new season. “Saturday Night Live” airs on NBC on Dish Network at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.The host for the season premiere will be Megan Fox with musical guest U2. Megan Fox will be making her SNL debut as the host.
She is one of the most sought after actresses working in Hollywood today, having starred in Transformers, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, and the upcoming comedic/horror thriller, Jennifer’s Body. U2, the Grammy award-winning rock band, will make their third appearance on SNL. They recently released their critically acclaimed twelfth studio album, “No Line On The Horizon,” and are about to launch the U.S. portion of their 360˚Tour. U2 has sold more than 145 million albums worldwide and have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band.
Arriving to host on October 3 will be Ryan Reynolds, who recently starred in two of the most popular and highest grossing films of the year The Proposal and the X-Men spin-off, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds has also starred in the remake of The Amityville Horror, Just Friends, Van Wilder, and Adventureland. He has also signed on to star in the upcoming The Green Lantern, which due out summer 2011.The musical guest on October 3 will be Lady Gaga, the multi-talented singer-songwriter with a flair for theatrics. This will be her SNL debut. Lady Gaga has had such hits as “Just Dance,” “Poker Face” and “LoveGame.”On October 10, Drew Barrymore returns for her sixth time as host.
She first hosted SNL on November 20, 1982 at seven years old, making history as the youngest host to ever appear on the show. Barrymore has had an extensive film career, including such blockbusters as E.T., Charlie’s Angels, He’s Just Not That Into You, Fever Pitch, and The Wedding Singer. She recently received an Emy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie in HBO’s “Grey Gardens.” Drew also directed and starred in this fall’s Whip It. The musical guest on October 10 will be Regina Spektor, an artist who is known for creative and eclectic music. Her latest album, “far”, debuted at #3 on the billboard Top 200.
And finally, on October 17, actor Gerard Butler makes his SNL debut. Butler, is most well-known for recognized for his leading role in 300, but he has also appeared in several other feature films including The Ugly Truth, P.S. I Love You, and the recently released Gamer. Butler can next be seen in Law Abiding Citizen, which is due out October 16. The musical guest will be international superstar Shakira. Shakira continues to top the charts with her latest single, “She-Wolf” and her album out October 13th. Her last project, “Oral Fixation Volumes 1& 2,” has sold in excess of 8 million albums worldwide with the singles “La Tortura and “Hips Don’t Lie” having earned over 10 million digital downloads.
