The Following Are My Five Most Anticipated Albums of 2007.

1. Radiohead – TBA – TBA.

Radiohead’s latest album is supposed to come out this year. It is as of now unnamed and there’s no release date. They don’t even have a record label as of now and it’s unknown how their album will be released if it is released. All of this only adds to the excitement. Radiohead hasn’t released a new album in four years (time flies, no?) so there’s been quite a buildup to this new album.

I’ve heard some of the tracks that are supposed to be on the new album in a live recordings found online. I’ve been very happy with what I’ve heard. I have pretty high expectations for this album with the combination of how good Thom Yorke’s “Eraser” was (one of my top albums of 2006.) and with the high quality of these live recordings.

My desire is that Radiohead does not begin to rest on their laurels and they do not try dumb things down to the lowest common denominator. I hope they come out with their most ambitious and progressive album yet.

2. Air – Pocket Symphony – March 6th

I’m a huge fan of Air. I love all of their albums. My favorite being 10,000 Hz Legend because of it’s weirdness and abstractions. But even their more easy listening material (such as the somewhat overrated Moon Safari) is great.

I’ve heard some negative things about this album from folks who have heard advance copies (I haven’t got one myself yet) but I’m still excited to hear it because well, I often find that other people have bland taste (preferring Moon Safari over 10,000 Hz Legend is a great example in my mind.)

3. Wilco – Sky Blue Sky – May 15th

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is one of the best albums of this century. A Ghost Is Born is pretty damn good too. Those are two pretty good reasons to be excited about the new Wilco album. Much like Radiohead I’m hoping for more adventure. I’m actually not a huge fan of the 90s Wilco material. I find it a bit bland.

4. Akron/Family – TBA – Spring

Akron/Family’s debut self titled album was one of my favorite musical discoveries of recent times. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get into their 2006 album Meek Warrior at anywhere near the same level. That being said I’m still excited about their new album. I think if nothing else Akron/Family is not a band that’s going to rest. I think they are adventuresome and not afraid to try new things. That makes them a rather exciting force in my book.

5. The Smashing Pumpkins – TBA – Spring 2007

I’m cautiously optimistic that Billy Corgan has something interesting up his sleeve. I was not a big fan of Machina and I thought Zwan wasn’t particularly interesting and The Future Embrace downright awful. All of that being said I think The Pumpkins 90s work stands up very well today and I’m more than willing to give Corgan and the Pumpkins another chance. If nothing else I’m very curious about this album.

Sting and Bob Dylan are currently leading the charge in 2009 with bestselling Christmas albums, but there are others in the on the act too.  In this article, we will take a look at the new Christmas albums that you may want to add to your collection this Holiday season.

Currently sitting atop the bestseller list is Bob Dylan’s “Christmas in the Heart”.  This is Bob Dylan’s first Christmas album and features his unique voice and style singing many Christmas classics including “Little Drummer Boy” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”.  As always with Bob Dylan, the reviews have been mixed; some loved this album and others disliked his performances.  Chances are that if you like Bob Dylan you will be a fan of this album.  And, if you buy it, you will be doing a good deed as all proceeds are donated to Feeding America, an organization dedicated to providing food to the hungry.

Nipping at the heels of Bob Dylan for the top spot will be Sting.  Released on October 26th, Sting’s Christmas offering is entitled “If on a Winter’s Night…”.   Many will buy this album because Sting is one of the greatest musicians of our generation.  However, they need to know what to expect.  This is not an album filled with classic Christmas treasures.  Rather, Sting goes out on a creative limb with his fellow musicians and creates a more artistic Christmas album.  Like Dylan’s offering, many people will buy this one because of the name and about half of them will not like the artistry of it.

David Archuleta, of American Idol fame, has put out a Christmas album entitled “Christmas from the Heart”.  Though the title is like that of Bob Dylan’s album, the albums are entirely different.  If you are an Idol fan, you know David and you know his voice.  The songs, and the voice, are classic.  This certainly will be one of the Bestselling Christmas Albums in 2009.

One album that I am really looking forward to this Holiday season comes from Neil Diamond and is entitled “A Cherry Cherry Christmas”.  Released on October 13, this album contains the Christmas classics.  I particularly enjoyed Neil’s version of “Joy to the World”.  It has the power and joy of “Coming to America” and makes my list for one of the Top Christmas Songs this season.

With his smooth voice, look for Barry Manilow’s album to do well this Christmas season.  His album, entitled “In the Swing of Christmas”, was recently released in October and features both old and new Christmas songs.  Barry Manilow is known for his enthusiastic performances and he does not let us down with this album.  All fans of Barry will enjoy it.

Probably the sentimental favorite this year comes from the Jackson 5.  Their album, named the “Ultimate Christmas Collection” contains 21 songs from the Jacksons, both old and new.  This album features a limited release Michael Jackson song called “Little Christmas Tree” that will tempt many this Holiday Season.

These are just a few of the albums available this season.  From Melissa Etheridge to Olivia Newton-John, many of the stars are coming out with Christmas albums that you may enjoy.

Two bands just weren’t enough for White Stripes frontman Jack White, and his newest-assembled rock group the Dead Weather is proving that perhaps the musician has saved the best for last. The Dead Weather, a force on the rock scene since forming in 2009, has just announced the release of the band’s sophomore set dubbed Sea of Cowards, and the date to circle on calendars is May 11, which is when it will be available to the public.

Quickly following the Dead Weather’s debut album Horehound in 2009, Sea of Cowards is projected to be an even bigger release, already swirling around the music scene with the album’s first single, “Die by the Drop.” The single was unleashed to the public on March 30 and the music video quickly followed suit, released via iTunes on April 6. The rest of the release will drop in mid-May.

Along with a fresh album to mark the Dead Weather’s place on the mainstream rock scene, the Nashville-based amalgam of already-famous artists will also play a string of live shows throughout the spring months, including a sprinkling of gigs at music festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview(‘/outgoing/article_exit_link’);” rel=”external nofollow” target=”_blank” href=”http://www.stubhub.com/the-dead-weather-tickets/”>The Dead Weather tickets</a> are available for several other shows this year, as well, making Jack White’s newest endeavor a bona fide success.

Recording music together came naturally for the newfound Dead Weather, and the electrifying chemistry between band members led to the quick release of Horehound, the band’s debut full-length set. Fueled by the singles “60 Feet Tall” and “Hang You from the Heavens,” Horehound quickly established the Dead Weather as a threat on the alternative rock scene.

While Jack White continues to play in his assortment of other music groups, his hand in the Dead Weather has also helped the rockers come up with Sea of Cowards, the band’s forthcoming release. For such a group that functions on the fly, the Dead Weather has made some monumental music over the last two years, satiating Jack White fans’ cravings for new tunes. When the band started in 2009, expectations for the crew were kept mum, with White revealing only the following about plans for 2010 in a November 2009 interview with Rolling Stone: “We’ll probably be having a new album by that time, if we’re lucky… We can’t tell you much about [a new album] except that it’s gonna be really expansive, and I use that word loosely in a scientific sense, meaning that I’m just using it to distract you.”

Now putting more concrete plans into place, the Dead Weather will continue roaming the nation on tour dates this spring while moving forward with a new album. New (third) album by singer MakSim “Odinochka” (“Single”) was released in early winter of 2009. This new work was recorded after a short pause associated with the birth of her daughter.

“Odinochka” includes already well-known movie hits “The Birds” (from the movie “Taras Bulba”) and “The Road” (from the movie “The Book of Masters”), as well as the single “Radio Waves” and popular in Internet hit “Odinochka”.

MakSim explained that album title has nothing similar with the word “loneliness”. Single is a state of mind.

“Now I have a completely new and unfamiliar period in life. I married, we have a daughter – Sasha, and I am… “single”. We live in a big house far from the city in the village, where we are the only tenants. We listen to vinyl records, inherited from grandparents, read aloud, and go to a river in the evenings. We have lots of guests, mostly musicians. It is easy and fun to be “Single”, as there are many people like us.

In support of the new album MakSim conducts large-scale tour along the cities of Russia. MakSim plans to continue the tour in 2010 after a short vacation. Singer plans to release new singles and videos with hits from the album “Odinochka”.

Release, entitled “Odinochka” conceals many surprises. The third album of matured singer is more mature, but it did not lose MakSim’s lyricism and honesty. Admirers will be surprised by the unexpected appearance of release and  completely new songs that are unusual for MakSim.

Released last month, Love, the new album by rock band Angels and Airwaves, seems to be a slight departure from the punk-rock style of Tom DeLonge. The blink-182 band member has embraced a “space theme” for new tracks via his latest musical endeavor.

Their first album, We Don’t Need to Whisper, gave fans a taste of what to expect from the newly formed group, with songs like “The Adventure,” “The War” and “The Gift.” The lyrics were highly passionate and reflected dreamlike content and an emphasis on the universe.

Angels and Airwaves then released I-Empire which, although not quite as popular as their first effort, spurred a U.S. tour with festival performances on the Warped Tour. The album featured the singles “Call to Arms,” “Everything’s Magic” and “True Love.” They further built upon the themes of the universe and space on this release, garnering more attention for DeLonge and Angels and Airwaves.

Love, their latest, was aptly titled for its release on Valentine’s Day. It was released free of charge and contains 11 tracks. DeLonge noted on his website that the album features a progressive rock sound: “Things happen unpredictably and take you to these epic soundscapes. It’s very much in the spirit of Angels & Airwaves, but it sounds way, way more thought-out and way more ambitious.”

Last year Tom DeLonge joined fellow blink-182 members (Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker) on the stage to announce a reunion tour, which they conducted through last year. They also spent time in the studio recording a new album. Between that and the new material from Angels and Airwaves, DeLonge has managed to keep busy. Jennifer Knapp, a christian music artist, has returned from her long “vacation”.  She has a new record coming out called Letting Go.

She has admitted to the world that she is a lesbian.  In interviews with her, she has stated that it is difficult to decide between her lesbian relationship and between her faith.

She chose her relationship instead of God though she may believe she can have both.  Without getting involved in a religious debate on whether this is biblical and/or true to real Christianity, I will stay that this does stir quite a bit of controversy.

I am sure there are people on both sides of the fence.  Some still support her and her music while others have decided to not support her at all since being a lesbian and being Christian conflicts with the teachings of Christianity some would say.

I'm a big fan of LP and I'm wondering when will they release a new album. I heard it will be sometimes around mid 2009 but I'm not sure. By the way, you guys know any band also sound good like LP besides Metallica and Limb Bizkit?

The current digital format of music files have contributed to the encouragement of discovering new music, including independent music. In fact, there are already plenty of independent music record companies that are exceeding commercial record labels in sales. One of the largest of these independent releases is the No limit, which has sold over 75 million records in the US alone.

Due to the success of independent music release in the internet, this has been used to fund new recording projects using the services that are also provided in the internet such as ArtistShare and other sites. As proof to internet music release success, the album, ‘California Years’ by Jill Sobule raised $90,000 online. This is surely an unbelievable success considering the fact that the album is independently released.

Moreover, for online independent music releases, the audience and the clients get a good deal also since these albums are relatively cheaper when downloaded in the internet than bought at the record stores. Furthermore, the web sites that host independent music provide audience participation that solicits for the opinion of the audience on some artists and bands. In this way, the audience plays a role in the success of artists and musicians. In addition, other music sites use technological advances including music blogs and social networks to promote independent releases. There are certainly a number of websites that offer music downloads, updates, independent releases, and even music uploading. Therefore, with the internet technology, independent music release has become more mobile and dynamic.
